About Toast
If you’re looking for a dog that will love you more than anything in the world and is happy to go wherever you go, then Toast is the one for you! This girl is extremely affectionate, playful, social and not to mention incredibly intelligent. She’s the whole package!
This girl is taking the world in her stride. She has slotted into foster care like she’s always been there - she’s a delight to have in foster care and has made everyone who’s met her fall instantly in love with her. Toast came into care from a rural NSW pound and has been getting used to the big smoke. She has come leaps and bounds thanks to her carer’s gentle exposure and dedication. She is now very happy out and about and has visited many new and exciting places such as pubs, cafes and rivers with lots of ducks! On her walks, she absolutely loves meeting new people and has been very friendly with anyone who has approached for a pat. She will need an owner who can continue her exposure to new places and will take her on lots of fun adventures as she will make the perfect adventure buddy, beach babe or coffee date. After settling into foster care so well for a number of weeks, while not at all obvious her carer noticed the occasional time toast wasn’t listening to her and she was SO incredibly good at desensitisation activities that her carer wondered if she had full hearing, we got her straight to the vet and the vet agreed she has some hearing loss. This is genetic and the hearing she has won’t deteriorate. She is such an amazing puppy it has taken this long for anyone to notice, so we hope people won’t see some hearing loss as an obstacle to owning the most perfect puppy as she most certainly does not find life hard at all!
As you can tell Toast definitely has a lot of beautiful cattle dog in her makeup, however what you might not be able to tell from photos is that she’s mixed with something smaller as she is only 8.2kg currently and has a cute little fox like face. That smaller breed is an unknown, but it means you get the big dog experience in a smaller package! Toast is a very smart, switched on pup who picks things up quickly. Her foster carers have been doing an incredible job of setting her up to be a well balanced and well behaved canine doggy citizen. She travels well in the car and knows basic commands such as sit, drop and how to walk on leash. She is toilet trained as long as appropriately managed and is content to rest during the day if you’re busy as long as she has had her outing. She is crate trained and quietly sleeps through the night in her crate. Toast loves using her brain so thoroughly enjoys training time or mentally stimulating activities such as puzzle toys. We are looking for a dog experienced family and a family who are committed to her ongoing training and providing her with both physical and mental activity daily.
Toast is a generally confident and happy pup who loves exploring what the world has to offer. She is currently living with a large breed male dog who she gets on wonderfully with. She is playful with him when he wants to be, but generally very respectful of his space. Outside the home she is quite neutral and mature for her age when seeing other dogs, however when given the ok to have a play she absolutely loves a game with dogs of all shapes and sizes. She is in foster care with two cats and after very initial excitement has learnt to live with them very well, so she will be fine to live with cats who are used to dogs in the home. She will be fine as an only dog or in a home with other dogs who are happy to have an active puppy become a member of the family. If there are other dogs in the home they need to be fully grown and trained to ensure they are a good role model for her. Being a puppy, her new owners will need to continue her socialisation with other dogs in the form of play dates or social walks. She has also met some children while in care who she enjoyed spending time with, so will be fine to be rehomed with dog savvy children. Due to her age, she will need someone home more often than not, but she has been fine to be left home alone for a few hours while her carers pop out and about running errands.
Toast will require a home where she is allowed inside as part of the family and provided a comfy bed inside to sleep on at night. She should be provided a good quality diet and not only daily walks, but lots of fun adventures to see the world. We know whoever is lucky enough to welcome Toast into their home, will feel they have hit the jackpot. She is spunky, cuddly and will quickly worm her way into your heart.

This puppy will be adopted out under a desexing contract that will require the dog to be desexed by a given age. The cost of desexing will be included as part of the adoption fee. A $250 desexing bond will be payable in addition to the adoption fee and will be refunded upon proof of desexing. This process is further discussed with successful applicants.
Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
