About Russell
Russell may be just shy of his 8th birthday, but this adorable, lovable Senior Staffy boy is ready to live out his golden years in the company of a new family who will shower him with love, laughter, and joy! Russell has spent his life surrounded by care and affection from his previous owners, and he's got an entire lifetime of heartwarming stories to share-his tails (pun intended) are guaranteed to entertain.
Despite his age, Russell still has the playful spirit of a pup and isn't slowing down any time soon. He enjoys adventuring, meeting new people, and making new friends-human and animal alike! Russell has a calm, gentle demeanor, and nothing really phases this oversized lap dog as long as he's by your side. Whether it's lounging in front of the TV or going for a stroll, Russell is content just being with you.
Dog social and always up for a bit of fun, Russell would thrive in a home with a human sibling roughly his age (human years, not dog years, of course!). He's an affectionate companion who will give you years of loyalty and devotion. Russell's personality shines through with every wag of his tail and every loving glance.
This sweet, joyful boy is patiently waiting for the family who will love him as much as he loves them. If you're ready to add a gentle, funny, and adventurous friend to your home, come meet Russel-he's ready to find his forever home and celebrate all the birthdays yet to come!
Russell's birthday wish: A family to call his own, a party to celebrate, and endless cuddles. Will you be the one to make his dreams come true?
To book a meet and greet with Russell please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, inquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
