About Klaus
Klaus is a charming tuxedo cat with a big personality and a soft spot for calm company. He currently lives with his temporary foster family in a quiet household with two adults and two children. Though his carers work full-time, sometimes from home, Klaus is perfectly content to entertain himself. He's independent, but every afternoon without fail, he eagerly waits at the window to welcome the kids home.
Klaus can be a little shy of new people and seems to bond more closely with his female carer.
He adores his feline foster sibling and the two get up to plenty of mischief together when they aren't snuggled up to one another. Klaus would definitely be suitable to live with another feline if your current fur baby needs a friend. Should there be canine family members in the home Klaus will tolerate them being outside but can be spooked if they get too close, so may be best living with either an outside pooch or a home without dogs at all.
Klaus can still be startled by loud noises or fast movements, but he's quick to recover. He's curious around new people and usually emerges from hiding within 10 minutes for a cautious sniff or soft pat. He enjoys interactive play with kids but prefers gentle handling. Hide and seek is a favourite!
While he's not keen on being picked up, Klaus will climb onto a lap or snuggle up beside you when the mood strikes. He often uses his paw to gently pull your hand to his head for pats, he knows what he wants and isn't afraid to ask. He loves gentle cheek scratches and long strokes along his back and tail, but belly rubs are strictly off-limits.
Klaus is playful and needs toys, especially balls and scratching posts. A sunny window seat is a must, as he loves birdwatching and stretching out in the warmth. He's not fussy with food, though keep an eye out on unsupervised food as anything left unattended is fair game for snacks.
He's mostly quiet but will chirp when hungry or meow if he doesn't know where you are, just to check in, not because he wants company, but for reassurance. At bedtime, Klaus prefers sleeping in the bathroom or laundry, sometimes cuddled up with his kitty companion or tucked away in the bathtub.
Klaus is the perfect blend of independent and affectionate. With time and patience, he becomes a gentle, playful companion. He'll thrive in a calm home with a feline friend, sunny spots to lounge, and humans who let him come to them on his own, delightfully quirky terms.
