About Occy
Occy has had a tough start to life, but he's now getting a second chance at it. When Occy first arrived he was very scared. His world was so much bigger than he ever expected. Little did he know, his new start to life was going to be full of excitement and new friends both humans and dogs.
Occy is a gentle boy. He takes time to get used to new people, including new experiences, like outside noise and objects. Whilst he takes time to trust new people, once you have it he'll be your friend for life.
He is a very fast learner in a comfortable environment. The calmer the environment the better. He knows sit, wait, shake, as well as good on lead walking. This will be an area that he will need on going training for. He is very food orientated and loves enrichment feeds. These include puzzle feeders and snuffle matts as well as kongs and wobblers that keep him very occupied. He absolutely loves chicken fillets and peanut butter.
His diet consists of Royal Canin dry food. In the past he has been given chicken prime 100 that has sometimes upset his stomach. He may be more sensitive to richer foods.
Occy could be described as opportunistic. He can climb quite high fences and clear smaller walls. His motives for jumping are to get to a safe spot with someone he trusts. He has never to tried to escape and run. He knows his capabilities and in result this will have to be closely watched to ensure his surrounds are secure.
Occy is a supper social pup. When he first arrived, he was always very comfortable around the other dogs. He has a nice playstyle and loves a good chase. He is starting to understand corrections and respect other dogs boundaries. He would be great to go home with another dog or by himself. He doesn't worry without his companions but also loves being around them.
His current training is focussed on stopping him from jumping up at people. He is a fast learner but is still a puppy with energy and excitement.
Occy is very excited to find his forever home and begin his next journey by his new humans side.
