About Roxy Peggotty
TO APPLY FOR ADOPTION PLEASE SEND IN APPLICATION FORM AVAILABLE BELOW:

I am Roxy, a beautiful Staghound x Pointer and four years old in
October. Due to no fault of my own, I have found myself looking for a
new abode and for some special humans to offer me a forever home.
I am house trained and will always wake you if I need to go outside to
do my business. I will protect our home and let you know vocally on
occasion if someone is at our home or near it. Feed times, I try to be a
good girl but my previous fur friend used to try and eat her food and
mine so I did get a bit cranky with her but I’m happy eating with others
if they stay at their own bowl.
I love being around other dogs but do get a bit excited so need a bit of
work to learn some boundaries as I can be very enthusiastic. I would be
best around medium dogs or dogs my size andI do love having a furry
friend for company. Someone who I can play zoomies with, but not for
long, as I run out of steam. A fur friend to spoon at night or a human
is my idea of a great life.
When going for a walk, I am very well behaved and if I do get excited, I
will listen to you when you ask me to be a good girl. I also love
water, so can be your beach babe, any time you want! If you call my
name, I will come back to your side, which shows how clever I am to have
in your life. When it’s time for a bath, I quite enjoy that and a coat
brush, just being spoilt makes me happy.
I would prefer a home with high fences as I do get anxious if left
alone, so being inside for that time would be best for us all. I have
been known to jump a 6ft fence if left alone outside but if you are
home, I am happy to be outside and not jump. I do need anxiety
medication and am unsure if this will be ongoing or not. As a bonus, I
do travel well in a car and love having my head out the window enjoying
the scenery and smells.
I have previously lived with a cat but the cat would have to be dog
savvy and know that I may want to chase you and play!
I absolutely love children and am very gentle and well behaved, although
due to my size, bigger children would be best. I would hate to knock
over anyone with my enthusiasm though I would love to play and have fun
with bigger kids. I can be a couch potato also and give you cuddles and
hugs and be your best friend. I do love my naps as I wear myself out
quite quickly.
I would love to find my perfect family and give you all the love and
attention that I can. I am very loyal and loving, love my humans,
drives, toys, swimming, playing and napping. I can sometimes find
things I shouldn’t have but that can be worked around when we get to
know each other. But I promise, I will always try my best and I will
make you laugh at my silly, funny, girly ways.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped,
wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals,
surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm
testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If
a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.

No known pre-existing conditions. Weight 26kg.
Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

Please note that we do not take/make telephone calls prior to receiving an application.
Commonly asked questions and their answers are provided when you email us. Unfortunately we usually will not have time to reply to enquiries in more detail and will give priority to completed applications over enquiries. Priority will also be given to typed applications which are easier for us to read and to copy relevant parts.
We look forward to receiving your application.
