Emmett is an affectionate, playful young cat who is hoping to find a loving forever home where he can be showered with the attention he deserves. At just three and a half years old, Emmett has a long and happy life ahead of him, and he’s ready to spend it as someone’s loyal companion.

This handsome fellow has a luxurious, thick coat that requires twice-daily brushing—a task he absolutely adores. He may also benefit from a summer clip to help keep him comfortable in the warmer months. His love for grooming is only rivalled by his love for cuddles and playtime.

Emmett is a curious and observant boy who enjoys quiet moments watching the world go by from a sunny window. A home with a good view would be his dream come true. He’s also a keen bug-hunter and springs to life when there’s a toy—or a pesky insect—to chase. He’s equally enthusiastic when engaging with other playful cats. In his foster home, Emmett has shown himself to be sweet and respectful with the resident cats. He doesn’t force friendships but is always happy to share space and affection. We’d love to see him adopted into a home with another friendly feline for company.

Emmett is not suited to homes with dogs, including visiting ones. Even the sound of barking nearby can make him uneasy, which suggests he may have had negative experiences with dogs in the past. Emmett came into our care after his previous owners were unable to afford the treatment he needed for a urinary blockage. Since then, he has thrived on a high-quality urinary diet (which he enjoys), with a stress-free environment and access to a water fountain to encourage hydration. These measures have helped reduce the risk of recurrence, and we ask that his future family continue this level of care.

Emmett is desexed, microchipped, and up to date with vaccinations and parasite treatments. He’s currently in foster care in Ferntree Gully and is looking for a forever home in Melbourne or the surrounding suburbs.
