This bouncy active 2 ¾ year old Standard Poodle is needing a new home with a person or family experienced in the care of exuberant adolescent dogs who need some solid ongoing behavioural training, and committed to providing this training for this girl
She will need daily socialisation, and physical and mental exercise to keep her happy and prevent boredom. She has a good food drive for treat training, however like most adolescent Standard Poodles (and humans) a limited attention span, and her brain probably needs another 12 months to mature and settle down. She is likely to reach her mature adult height and weight in the next 12 months, and is showing signs of developing a bit of a prey drive with approaching maturity.
Kath Murray has a great sense of fun and loves balls, and human attention, is a curious intelligent young standard poodle, however, is very jumpy, and a bit mouthy, and is just learning to listen to, and pay attention to human requests. Her café and society manners need a quite a bit of practice.
She loves playing with other dogs and benefits from the company and mentoring of calmer, sensible older dogs, (particularly other Standard Poodles), but she can be a bit too active and excitable for smaller and younger dogs.
Kath Murray is well toilet trained, loves her food – not picky what she eats, nicely behaved on the grooming table, and like most creamy apricot poodles has a fairly soft coat which needs a daily brush and comb and 4-6 weekly professional groom - which will probably cost between $120 - $150 at a Professional Groomer. She does have a slight eye pocket, and needs a daily eye wipe, and sometimes natural tears to prevent a buildup of eye discharge
Not for;
– first time dog owners, or people unable to commit to ongoing training or grooming
-households with children under 12
-households with smaller or younger dogs
-Households with cats or other small pocket pets or birds
