This sweet affectionate girl has come into foster care when her much loved owner needed to move to live in Residential Care, and her care and rehoming has involved the support of a small village including the Poodle Club and community, and the wonderful people from Starting Over

Adora is a 4-year-old Blue Poodle who has been used to living with a mature lady

Unfortunately, earlier this year she was diagnosed with a Cervical Spinal Canal Stenosis – (called Wobblers Disease in dogs). She has responded well to treatment with a course of Prednisolone; however, this will be lifelong issue for Adora, and affects her care and handling

She needs; -

-The usual poodle affection, entertainment, socialisation and love

-a daily brush and comb and 4-6 weekly professional groom which will normally cost between $120 and $150

-a calm home with consistent care

-moderate exercise only – she is currently moving quite well and can sit comfortably, but this will vary depending upon the degree of spinal nerve compression she experiences

-NO NECK COLLARS EVER
-regular reviews with an experienced Vet to review her movement and pain levels
- a bit of extra TLC to keep her comfortable and relaxed
- a bit of extra high calorie nutrition – she is naturally a lightweight girl, but cannot tolerate chicken products

Where possible, ongoing support and mentoring will be provided by those who know her – based in Melbourne but happy to chat via phone

-Households with very active large dogs who ‘rough -play’
- Children under 7
