About Tilly and Finn
Double the Love: Meet Tilly & Finn, a Sweet Senior Duo.
Looking for a ready-made family? Look no further than Tilly and Finn, a bonded pair of adorable senior small dogs looking for their forever home.
These two sweethearts are approximately 7 years old and have been together their entire lives, so we're committed to finding them a loving home where they can stay together.
They are currently in foster care in Crestmead.
The Dynamic Duo:
Tilly: This little lady is a social butterfly. Tilly (a charming Chihuahua/Terrier mix with a slightly wirey coat) greets everyone with a wagging tail and is always happy to say hello. She's the more confident and independent of the two, and while she enjoys a bit of playtime, she's equally content cuddling up on the couch for a Netflix marathon.
Finn: Don't let his initial shyness fool you – Finn (a sweetie pie who looks a lot like a little Italian Greyhound) is one of the most affectionate dogs you'll ever meet! He needs a little time to build trust, but once he does, he'll shower you with love. He relies on Tilly for confidence (boys can be softies, right?), and we've found that a crate is his happy place and he can get anxious without it. Finn is currently on some light anti-anxiety medication to help him adjust. This is something that may or may not be needed long-term.
Their Story:
Tilly and Finn have spent their lives with a young family who sadly had to make the difficult decision to rehome them due to serious health issues. They have been very loved, and while Tilly is adjusting well, Finn is finding the transition a bit harder.
What They Need:
Each other! We will not separate this bonded pair.
Someone patient and understanding, especially with Finn.
A home with outside access for toileting.
An open crate for Finn to feel safe and secure.
A loving home where they can spend their golden years.
A confident owner. They know sit but can have selective hearing at times.
The Details:
Ages: Approximately 7 years old
Breeds: Tilly - Chihuahua/Terrier mix; Finn - Italian Greyhound/Fox Terrier mix
Weight: Approximately 5kg each
Location: Crestmead, QLD
Adoption Fee: $800 for the pair.
Temperament: Both are affectionate and sweet, but Finn needs a little extra patience. Good with other dogs (with proper introductions) and have adapted well to resident cats. Tilly will occasionally chase the cat but isn't aggressive.
Extra Notes from Their Foster Carer:
"They both know 'crate' and will happily walk themselves in."
"They are crated overnight and when I'm out because Tilly can get barky, but they don't bark at all when I'm gone. They only bark when they hear me at the door."
"They walk well on a leash, although Finn pulls slightly."
"They know 'sit.'"
"They will bark at neighbour dogs but will stop when told to do so."
"They are both great with my dogs and the cats"
"Both can have a hint of small dog syndrome but have settled beautifully with 2 large resident dogs."
