About Avocado

š¶ Personality:
Avo is a well mannered and friendly boy who loves the company of other dogs & humans. He enjoys playing fetch and going for a good swim in the water. He loves a good play with his furry foster sister & chilling out on his bed on the back deck once playtime is over. He is not suited to free ranging chickens but is fine with them behind a fence.
š Training:
Avo is such a good boy whoās already mastered his basic commands such as sit, stay, shake & drop. He is house trained & well mannered. He needs ongoing training with his loose lead walking as he may not have been exposed to many walks in his previous home. He responds well to whistles or ācomeā but doesnāt seem to know his name. He would benefit from continued training in his new home.
š Perfect Home:
Avo is thriving in foster care on property with plenty of space to move around and he very much enjoys the company of other dogs. He is looking for a forever home on property or with a large back yard and a furry foster brother or sister. He would benefit from having an active family who can provide him with regular walks, training & playtime.
Medical notes
An xray of his right foreleg showed an old fracture along the growth plate which has completely healed itself.
As it's not causing Arlo/Avo any pain and isn't impacting him in any way, the vets feel it's best left as it is. Surgery may create issues.
He may develop arthritis in the future and there is a very slight chance he may need surgery when he's older.
As it's a pre-existing condition, we would cover the cost of surgery at a vet of our choosing should the need arise in the future.
We spoke with his former owner about this and he stated that he hurt himself as a pup when he jumped off the back steps.
As it was a weekend and he recovered by Monday, they did not investigate this.
