About Ashley
đž Meet Ashley â The Sweet and Shy Companion đž
Ashley is a gentle and loving nearly 4 years 3 months old Chihuahua [Long Haired]
who thrives on quiet companionship, she may be small, but her heart is full of love for the person she trusts most. She is a true homebody, happiest when snuggled up next to her favorite human on the lounge, soaking in all the love and attention she can get.
Ashley weighs 4.9kgs and is 25 cms high
Ashley has come into care now retiring from breeding and the rescue has completed all the vet work including dental (extraction and scale and clean)
Ashley is fully toilet trained, as long as sheâs let outside regularly.
She prefers to stay indoors when itâs raining but is comfortable using puppy pads if needed. She hasnât used a doggy door before and may be too timid to learn, but she has no trouble letting her person know when she needs to go out.
While she is not crate trained and doesnât like being confined, she sleeps soundly in bed with her humans, often burrowing under the covers near their feet.
She is a quiet and sedate little girl who enjoys a peaceful environment. Aside from a few excited zoomies now and then, Ashley prefers to lounge around.
Barking isnât in her natureâshe may let out a happy noise when her person comes home, but otherwise, sheâs a quiet observer.
Ashley gets along well with other small dogs, particularly Chihuahua mixes like her current companions. She hasnât been around large dogs but would likely be nervous.
She has been cat-tested and generally ignores them, though she may chase them off if food is involved. She has also been around budgies and even cows, showing little interest in them.
Ashley would prefer a home with no children as they make her very uncomfortable.
Walking isnât Ashleyâs favourite activity. Sheâs extremely nervous around sudden noises and unfamiliar environments. While she will walk around the garden on a lead, she prefers the security of home and doesnât enjoy venturing out much, even with her doggy companions. A relaxed household where she isnât expected to go on long walks would be ideal.
Ashleyâs favourite pastime is simply being close to her person. She loves curling up next to her human on the lounge, soaking up all the cuddles she can get. Sheâll occasionally play with a squeaky toy for a moment but quickly returns to her favourite spot by your side.
Sheâs motivated by food, praise, and affection, always eager for a loving pat and a reassuring word. When sheâs happy, she has the most adorable little smile and will give sweet doggy kisses as she snuggles in closer.
It takes Ashley some time to warm up to new people, and she will likely hide when visitors arrive. Ashley will need time to settle and give her space to feel comfortable. Once she bonds with someone, she becomes a devoted shadow, following them from room to room with unwavering loyalty.
Ashley doesnât like to jump onto furniture and prefers to be lifted up and down rather than using a ramp.
She enjoys car rides but takes a while to settle, often shaking at first. Sitting in the passenger seat next to her person helps her relax.
Ashley would thrive in a calm and quiet home, preferably with another small, gentle dog for companionship or with someone who is home most of the time.
She needs a patient and loving adopter who understands that she may take a little while to fully come out of her shell. Once she does, she will reward her person with endless love, trust, and the sweetest little smiles.
If youâre looking for a quiet, loving companion who just wants to be by your side, Ashley may be the perfect match. Sheâs ready to find a home where she can feel safe, loved, and cherished forever. â¤ď¸

Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
