About Merlin
We at Home2Home believe everyone deserves the joy that cat guardianship brings! We love seeing wonderful cats matched with loving adopters, and we don’t want adoption fees to be a barrier to you bringing a loving cat into your heart and home. So if Merlin sounds like the cat for you, we ask you to nominate your adoption fee amount. There is no minimum or maximum amount required, and all adoption fees continue to fund PetRescue’s life-saving programs that support pets and people!
Some say Merlin is part cat, part wizard. With his luxurious grey coat and knowing gaze, he moves through life with the quiet confidence of a mystical being. Independent yet curious, he enjoys the company of his chosen humans—on his own terms, of course. He may not be one for lap snuggles, but he’ll settle beside you, keeping a watchful eye on your every move. A well-timed brush or pat is welcomed… when he deems it so. His playful streak is legendary, though be warned—sometimes his excitement leads to an unexpected scratch, a reminder that even magical creatures have their quirks!
New faces? Merlin takes his time. Rather than vanishing in a puff of smoke, he’ll observe from a safe distance before deciding if a greeting is in order. Once he warms up, he’ll weave his way into your world with quiet charm, making you feel as though you’ve earned the trust of a true enchanter. He’s a cat of mystery, revealing his affectionate side only to those patient enough to wait for the magic to unfold.
Merlin's daily rituals are as predictable as the rising sun. Morning spells begin with demanding his favourite treats, followed by shadowing his human through the house. If you work from home, expect him to claim prime desk real estate—often wedging himself between your laptop and monitor in a clever bid for attention. As evening falls, he becomes a nocturnal adventurer, watching bats from his favourite perch.
Merlin seeks a home as unique as he is—one with a calm yet active rhythm, outdoor access, and feline friends to keep him entertained. His ideal companions will appreciate his intelligence, independence, and comedic antics (like his adorable upside-down naps). If you’re looking for a cat with character, charm, and a dash of wizardly wisdom, Merlin might just be your match.

When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
