About Jess
Meet Jess, an outgoing and friendly Irish Wolfhound seeking an especially loving home. She weighs 30 kgs and was born on or about 29 April 2024.
Jess is an intelligent and devoted youngster, always ready to please her human family. Her skills include sitting on hand command for food and being a good watchdog. She barks briefly at potential intruders or nearby animals, yet she remains well-mannered and affectionate with familiar faces.
True to her breed, Jess brings the promise of endless love and loyalty. She is a dream for anyone yearning for a “Velcro dog.” She forms very strong bonds with her humans and will stick by your side, through thick and thin, ensuring you never feel alone.
She’s well-behaved, house-trained, and a delightful car companion.
Jess is dog-social and enjoys interacting with the other dogs in her foster home. BUT she has a strong preference for being the only dog in the household because she is reluctant to share the love and affection her humans have to offer.
Is she clingy? A bit, but that's a product of being separated from her beloved original family due to housing problems. Her devotion makes her a perfect companion for someone who wants a deep connection with their canine and as she matures, she will grow in self-confidence.
Still very much a puppy at heart, Jess is excited by wildlife, so she needs a home that does not have cats, pocket pets or chickens. She also tends to jump up when excited, so is not a suitable playmate for young children.
Clever and eager to please, she will do best in the hands of a strong and confident owner, ideally someone with large breed experience who can help her reach her full potential.
She is strong on the leash, but will improve with time and training.
Safety is paramount, so Jess needs secure, high fencing to keep her contained, especially if left behind when her beloved humans leave home without her.
If you’re looking for a four-legged friend who wants to be your constant companion, Jess could be your perfect match.
