Thunderstruck is a lovely guy with a happy-go-lucky approach to life.
He is the perfect houseguest in his foster home, enjoying the company of the resident young male wolfhound and an elderly female staffy mix. He is house trained and has access to a doggy door 24/7, sleeps in his own bed in his carer’s bedroom of a night and spends most of his day playing in the yard with the younger dog when not resting on the balcony or going inside to crash on the couch. He doesn’t have much interest in toys or balls, just playing with a mate if he feels like it.
He enjoys regular walks (30 min max) and behaves perfectly on the lead, with no pulling even if he sees other walkers and dogs.
He is a great, no-trouble co-pilot on car rides, sitting quietly in the back seat, just happy to be along for the ride. He also enjoys snuggling on the couch of an evening with his carer. He loves the company of his human and is very affectionate with people he knows.
He gets along with other dogs when meeting them at the vet, casually saying hello to the friendly ones with a sniff and a wag.
His ideal home would be one with another dog around his size, who doesn’t mind a bit of playing, but isn’t too energetic and “in your face”. Probably would prefer a female, and around his age so their energy levels match. That said, he would also be happy as the only dog if he was living with retirees or work from home people so he could enjoy their company in place of a dog. Fulltime workers without pets would not be suitable.
*****Thunderstruck has a fear of storms/thunder and probably fireworks too. Upon discussion with the vet, his carer was provided with some sedatives to administer in the event of a storm. This will be discussed with potential adopters upon application.*****
He comes with a thunder jacket, some medications and some Homeopathic drops.
Thunderstruck is a great dog for anyone who would enjoy the company of a loyal, friendly, loving dog who doesn’t need to walk marathons to keep him fit, just someone happy to mosey along for a walk and take in the smells and sights. He is well mannered in all ways and great company.
If you think you have a space for this lovely older guy, where he can live out his life happily with a friend or family who include him in their lives, please apply now so he can settle into his new life sooner rather than later.
