Bowie is a 5 year old desexed male greyhound available for adoption in Melbourne (VIC).
He’s a bright, playful boy with a big personality and an affectionate, cheeky nature. Since being in foster care, he’s really blossomed and continues to grow in confidence with routine, calm guidance, and positive experiences.
He loves being close to his people and thrives when included in daily routines, whether that’s heading out for walks, enrichment time, or simply relaxing at home after a big day.

Does Bowie need a lot of exercise?
Yes — Bowie is an active greyhound who enjoys two walks per day (around 8km total), plus enrichment and play.
Can Bowie live with other animals?
Bowie absolutely enjoys the company of other greyhounds and has several close friends he loves spending time with, including occasional sleepovers. However, he would be best suited as an only dog in the home so he can receive the attention, structure, and training he needs to thrive. He would benefit from regular playdates with calm, confident greyhounds to maintain positive social experiences.
Bowie has not had exposure to other dog breeds. He is not suitable for homes with cats or small dogs.
Can Bowie be left alone during the day?
Yes — up to half a day once settled into a consistent routine, with a gradual build-up of confidence in a new home.
Is Bowie good with children?
Yes, best with older, dog-savvy children (10+) who are comfortable with a large, playful dog.
Is Bowie a typical greyhound?
Not really — Bowie is more interactive, playful and engaged than the usual greyhound stereotype, which is part of what makes him special.

Adoption details
1) Please email hello@amazinggreys.com.au to receive our adoption application form. This form helps us learn more about you, your household and work commitments.
2) Once we received your application, Amazing Greys conducts an in person home check to make sure your home is secure and suitable for a greyhound.
3) Based on the home check, our adoptions team will suggest a suitable match for you*, and a meet and greet will be arranged with the foster home
4) After the meet and greet, should you decide to proceed the greyhound will be placed on a 3 week trial with you
5) At the completion of the trial period, our $400 fee will be due and the greyhound becomes an official member of your family!
Our team will keep in touch with you throughout the process and help you to settle in your new greyhound; but you will also have lifetime support, at any point post adoption our team can assist with referrals to qualified behaviourists and also providing resources and in home consultations where required.
*Where a suitable match is not available, you may be placed onto a wait list. Please note, we do not cat test and may refer applications with small animals to organisations that are able to assist with a placement
