Meet Leo – Our Majestic Gentle Giant
Leo is the kind of cat you don’t forget. Big-hearted, full of curiosity, and still learning the ropes of indoor life, Leo’s journey from pound to foster care has been one of growth, love, and discovery.
We don’t know Leo’s past, but we believe he was once loved by humans — just not given the safe, structured life he deserved. Likely kept outdoors, Leo missed out on learning how to navigate life with other animals. That’s something we’ve been helping him work through, slowly and gently.
After finding the adoption pod too isolating, Leo was "kidnapped" by his new foster family — where he’s been learning, under close guidance, how to coexist with cats and dogs alike. He’s utterly fascinated by the resident Boston Terrier puppy (the feeling isn’t always mutual), and he’s made cautious attempts at play through the safety of a glass door. With kittens, he’s gentle but still figuring things out, often shutting down when hissed at.
What Leo needs is a calm home with one other friendly pet, and patient humans who understand the slow art of safe introductions. He thrives on human affection, sleeping beside his foster mum and always hunting for cuddles. He’s a bit picky with food — fancy pâté and freshly cooked meat are his go-tos — which makes us think he may have been fed from a plate or by kind strangers in his past.
Leo is ready for a home where he’s not just safe, but truly seen. A place where he can continue learning how to be part of a family — not just as a pet, but as someone’s loyal, loving shadow.
