Adelie

Adelie is a gentle, affectionate four month old pup who is looking for a home where she will have an active lifestyle but also lots of love and cuddles.

Adelie has been living in foster care with her brother Scotty and a bunch of adult dogs. She loves them all, although her favourite play times are when she is just with Scotty. Adelie also loves people, and she is a particularly cuddly pup who loves to be held or to sit on people’s laps. She is a pup who is shy and cautious when faced with new situations, and her adopter will need to be prepared to work with her to build her confidence.

Adelie is an athletic pup who loves to run and jump and would probably enjoy a range of dog sports, but she doesn’t like being in the middle of a big bunch of playful dogs, preferring to sit back and watch when all the big dogs are on the go. With the support of her humans, she will develop more confidence as she learns about the world but she’s not going to be the dog who will want to lead the pack.

Adelie walks quite well on leash but as with any pup, she will need ongoing training to improve on this and to establish her general obedience. Adelie is crate trained and sleeps all night without making a peep.

Adelie is looking for a home where she will be part of the family and will go out and about to experience every adventure possible. She would love to live with a gentle doggy companion to help her build her confidence and who will be tolerant of her puppy ways and join in some games. She is an easy-going dog who would probably adapt to any type of home, but she would like to have enough outdoor space to fossick around in, as that’s what she likes to do to entertain himself. As a kelpie, Adelie will need both mental and physical stimulation to keep her mind and body healthy and active, and she will thrive with some training.
