About Felix
Fenix is an incredibly charming and delightful 6-month-old red Kelpie, known for his lively and distinctive personality that sets him apart from other pups. This energetic young dog is brimming with vitality and enthusiasm, always ready to embark on new adventures and eager to become a devoted and affectionate companion to a loving family. You canât help but fall in love with his sweet face, puppy dog eyes and big pointy ears. When it comes to his personality, Fenix is the epitome of youthful exuberance. As a young Kelpie, he is full of energy and possesses a keen intellect, making him a quick learner. His time as a foster puppy has been nothing short of remarkable, as he has shown an impressive ability to adapt to new environments and people. He has quickly picked up on household rules, demonstrating his eagerness to please and his capacity for learning. In terms of his interactions with people, Fenix may initially approach new experiences with a hint of caution, but it doesnât take long for his friendly nature to shine through. Once he feels comfortable, he eagerly seeks out pats and playtime, relishing the opportunity to engage with people. He has a particular fondness for chasing toys, which makes playtime a joyous occasion for both him and his human companions. Fenix is well-suited for families with dog-savvy children who can handle the playful antics of a bouncy puppy. Unlike some puppies, he is not a nippy mouthing boy, which makes him an even more delightful companion for kids. Fenixâs social skills extend beyond humans to his interactions with other dogs. He is confident and sociability when around his canine companions, enjoying playful interactions at home and displaying polite behavior when meeting new dogs during walks. His friendly demeanor makes him a welcome addition to any dog-friendly household. When it comes to obedience and training, Fenixâs working dog heritage shines through. He is highly motivated to learn and has already mastered commands such as âsitâ and âwait.â He is diligently working on other commands like âmat,â âdrop,â and âcome,â showcasing his eagerness to expand his repertoire of skills. Fenix is nearly house-trained, with only a few minor accidents, usually using the doggy door to head outside for his business. His food motivation makes training sessions both effective and enjoyable. Although he is still a pup, he is supervised indoors and has not engaged in any significant mischief. Fenixâs daily activities are filled with fun and excitement. During the day, he stays outside, keeping himself entertained with toys and engaging in playful interactions with other dogs. He delights in roughhousing and zoomies, making him an ideal match for another energetic dog. In the evenings, Fenix enjoys a mix of playtime and relaxation on his mat, and he is a quiet pup who rarely barks. When itâs time for sleep, Fenix settles comfortably in his crate, quickly calming down with the help of a Kong filled with treats. He enjoys a restful nightâs sleep, waking up refreshed and ready for the day ahead at around 7am Grooming Fenix is a breeze, thanks to his low-maintenance coat. He handled his first bath with ease, aided by the distraction of peanut butter, and he thoroughly enjoys being brushed, making grooming sessions a pleasant experience for both him and his owner. Fenixâs diet consists of dry food, with meals in the morning and evening. He has a healthy appetite and enjoys a variety of treats, including pigsâ ears, cow hooves, and carrots oh and of course chicken!! Car rides are a highlight of Fenixâs day, as he eagerly jumps into the vehicle for daily trips to the park. He travels well, making car journeys an enjoyable experience. Fenix has shown a curious interest in cats, and with proper introductions, he could potentially learn to coexist peacefully with them, provided the cats are dog-savvy and accustomed to canine company. Exercise is essential for Fenix, given his working dog instincts. He requires regular walks and mental stimulation to keep him engaged and fulfilled. He walks reasonably well on a harness, although he may need a bit of encouragement when exploring new environments. Exposure to new places, coupled with treats, helps him build confidence and develop his sense of adventure. Fenix has a particular fondness for toy play, especially when it involves a flirt pole, which provides both physical exercise and mental stimulation. Fenix would thrive in an active family environment with a backyard and dog-savvy children. A family committed to training and meeting his working dog needs would find him to be a beautiful, friendly, loyal, smart, and cuddly addition to their home. With his vibrant personality and loving nature, Fenix is sure to bring joy and companionship to any household lucky enough to welcome him into their lives.
