About Max
Max might just have the fluffiest tail in the southern hemisphere—think majestic feather duster with legs. But this long-haired black/brown boy is more than just fabulous floof. He’s a sweet, sensitive soul with a heart as soft as his coat.
Rescued as a stray alongside his sister Ava and their three siblings, Max arrived in care timid and unsure of the world. Everything was new, and everything was scary. But slowly—through quiet patience, gentle kindness, and a few tasty snacks—Max has blossomed into a loving, affectionate companion.
He adores being patted, especially once he knows you’re safe. He’s not a fan of being picked up (paws firmly on the ground, thanks), and loud sounds or sudden movements can still spook him. But give him time, and you’ll get head boops, purrs, slow blinks, and that giant fluffy tail brushing past you as he leans in for affection.
Max also has a gentle, nurturing nature. He’s like the big brother of the foster house—kind, calm, and lovely with other cats. He’s even been friendly and respectful with small dogs. A home with another gentle animal would be right up his alley.
And yes—he’s very big for his age. He loves his food and may or may not give you "starving orphan" eyes at mealtimes. His new family will need to be mindful not to over-indulge those adorable requests.
Max would thrive in a calm home with a solo person, couple, or family with older, respectful kids. He just needs a bit of understanding, a lot of love, and maybe a scratching post or two for that fabulous tail to swish around.
If you're looking for a gentle-hearted boy who will reward your patience with trust, cuddles, and the most impressive tail swishes around—Max is ready.
