About Janis
Please meet Janis, a delightful youngster with impeccable manners and a gentle and affectionate nature.
Born on 23 December 2024, this sweetheart has all the makings of an exceptional family dog. We expect her to grow to 28-30 kgs at maturity.
We've puzzled over Janis's breed mix. Initially, we thought there was Kelpie or Border Collie in her. She certainly has the coat markings of a Border Collie, but as she's developed, we don't see the behavioural traits of a working dog. She's way too placid and her exercise needs are moderate at best. Her body shape has changed, too, and she's growing bigger than we initially expected. So now we're thinking she may be a mix of Bull Arab, Great Dane and Labrador, with a sprinkle of Border Collie. Whatever her ancestry, she's a super young dog and you'd go a long way to find one better.
Janis is very people-focused and is great with kids, never jumpy or over-excited. She loves other dogs and currently lives with five, but they take second place to her human foster family. Janis is a people-focused pup. Her intelligence shines through in her knowledge of basic commands, including waiting like a pro for the signal to dive into her meal.
She’s well mannered around cats, horses and chooks.
Although she's not a swimmer - yet - she loves splashing on the edge of the dam at her foster home. She's also good in the car.
Janis is a quiet girl, but will utter a surprisingly deep and resonant bark if someone comes up the driveway or knocks on the door of her foster home. Her bark, bigger than you'd expect from a puppy, would deter any would-be intruder, but in truth, she’s all about love and charm, with no hint of aggression.
If you're ready to welcome a loving, loyal, and clever addition to your home, Janis is ready to fill that role with a constantly wagging tail and an open heart.
