About Sam (On Trial)
On trial in a new home 19/1/12. Please consider our other dogs at www. Dogrescuenewcastle. Com. Au. . . Sam is a 10 years young, active and loves to play catch the ball. He's the best foster dog i've had. He loves walks and is good on his lead. He gets on well with other dogs at the house and is not aggressive. He loves a cuddle. . . . Sam was rescued from death row at the pound so we're not sure of his breed. He is the size of a tall fox terrier but has the colouring of a manchester terrier or miniature pinscher. The only thing we're sure of is that he is adorable. He is 10 years young, which isn't that old considering a small dog like him typically lives to around 15. Sam is very healthy, playful and active. . . . There are no cats here so i don’t know what he’s like with them. He has taught himself to use the doggie door and prior to that he would wait until someone let him outside to use the toilet. We’ve never had any accidents on the carpets. . . . He likes to sleep on the lounge or doggie bed but loves to cuddle up at night in a human bed. He has no allergies to any dog food and will eat home cooked, tin or dog biscuits. . . . He is friendly with children but dislikes some males with heavy boots. It may indicate that he has been kicked in a former life. He is very protective and a great guard dog. . . . He isn’t keen on thunderstorms, like most dogs, but he has a thunder shirt which helps him to be less scared. As long as he’s inside he feels safe. . . . He is gentle but if a stranger comes around he lets you know, otherwise he never barks at anything. He has a loving nature and would be good with kids but i see him suited to someone who can give him love during the day and probably someone older. He is content to sit beside me and keep me company. . . . He doesn’t fret when left alone but i reckon he'd be better with an older couple or a single person who is at home most of the time as he loves human contact. He would be an ideal companion for a retired couple or single person who has time to spend with him. He is a very faithful and loyal dog and craves human company. . . . Sam is the best dog i've ever had. He is so friendly and lovable, full of character and knows how to communicate it to you; smooching with his head like a cat! he understands many english keywords. . . Walk, ball, come, and nudges to be put on the lead when it's walk time. Such an in-tune doggie that it blows me away. Sam is the most darling of doggies and we all love him to bits and look forward seeing him settled into his forever home one day. . . . *** please see more photos of sam at
