Meet Benji, the delightful Maltese-Shih Tzu mix who’s ready to share his zest for life and his need for love with a family that promises to be his devoted pack. He loves company and would prefer someone is at home a lot ir works from home. Or maybe retired. Weighing in at just 5.5 kgs and at the tender age of 9, Benji may be small, but his personality is as big as his heart is warm. This desexed, microchipped, and vaccinated little guy is all set for cuddles and companionship.
Benji’s sweet and funny demeanor will bring endless smiles to your face as he playfully wiggles his way into your heart. Whether he’s trotting around the yard or cozying up for a snuggle, his quirky antics and loving nature make him the perfect companion.
Residing at Red Hill, Benji is already accustomed to family life and would do exceedingly well in a home with older children over the age of 12. He’s welcoming to both feline and canine friends and shines in an environment where his curiosity and social nature can be indulged. His only requirement is a secure fence to keep him safe during his outdoor adventures.
At the end of the day, Benji appreciates a good cuddle and a comfy place to rest. If your home has room for a little dog with a huge heart, he’s ready to reward you with loyalty and love. Benji’s adoption fee is $695, a small price for the joy and warmth this sweet soul is sure to bring into your life.

Here are some quick tips to make your APPLICATION stand out:
Include as many details as you can about your lifestyle, family, accommodation, and work. Here’s some first-hand feedback from our member rescue organisations about what they'd like to see in your applications:
🐱 Why would this animal suit your home? (This lets them know that you've read the pet’s bio and considered their personality vs. your lifestyle)
🐾 Details about your family
🏡 Is your home quiet/relaxed or loud/busy? (Particularly important for timid cats). Ask questions, to show your are interested in the animals ell being.
Add questions into the application.
Fill out the profiles of your current pets if you have any. Understanding the personality of resident cats and dogs will help rescue organisations or foster carers determine if the pet will adjust to your surroundings.
Remember to be respectful and kind in your enquiries. A simple greeting can go a long way! Behind that screen is a real hooman, who loves and cares for the pet you're enquiring about just as much as you will!
Be open and honest - rescues prefer having as much information as they can about potential adopters.
An adoption fee applies to each animal to cover only the basic veterinary procedures, and each adoption goes out on a 21 day settling in period, if the dog is returned in this period, and you’ve spoken to our trainer for assistance, and the dog is returned in good health, mentally and physically, and all their belongings and paperwork are returned, then we provide a refund less $50 admin fee. This is not a trial, but in case of any unknown or unforeseen circumstances.
The adoption process is as follows
✅Everyone that lives in the home will meet the dog with the carer
✅We ask everyone go home again and discuss and think about overnight and contact us the next day
✅This also gives the carer a chance to think about suitability
✅Then if everyone agrees we then require a home inspection, or at least photos of the home yard and fences.
✅Then the adoption fee is paid and once that clears our account you are free to arrange with the carer to collect
✅The adoption paperwork comes out in 14 days in which time you are required to register and change chip over
