Hi, I’m Benji, a young adult Staffy mix who’s looking for a patient and experienced owner who can help me feel more comfortable in the world. I’m a little nervous around new people and unfamiliar situations, but once I get to know you, I’ll show you just how loyal and loving I can be. Because I’ve had a limited life experience, I’ll need an owner who understands I might need some extra time to adjust. I will need to meet everyone who I'll share my new home with, please have a chat with the staff before bringing everyone in at once though. I may also be more comfortable around kids over 12 years old, as I’m still learning how to navigate their energy. While I might be fine living without another dog, I’d like to meet any potential canine companions first, as I don’t always get along with boisterous dogs. I won't enjoy dog parks, especially with dogs rushing up to me, I'd much rather go for a leisurely stroll with you by my side.

I’m not always the most confident dog, but I’ve got a big heart and just need someone who will take the time to build my trust. I’ll often “grin” as a way to show you I’m not threatening, just trying to communicate that I’m a little unsure. With a patient and understanding owner, I know I’ll continue to grow and become the loyal companion you’ve been looking for. If you’re willing to give me the time and space to blossom, I promise you won’t regret it. I’m ready for my forever home and can’t wait to show you what a good boy I can be!
