Blackjak is one cool, black panther of a kitty. He's only young boy but you'd be forgiven for thinking he was an adult cat by his size, but he's still definitely a mischievous kitten - playing with anything and getting into everything!

His new obsession is a bouncy ball - if you bounce it for him he'll leap into the air and grab it with his paws. He's even started to play fetch with the ball (sometimes!), bringing it back to us in his mouth!

He loves human company and if people are in another room it won't be long until he's meowing at the door wanting to be with them. He sleeps on the bed with his humans, enjoys being picked up and carried (including like a baby, and on our shoulders), he is a real smoocher, a purr-machine, a talkative boy (especially during playtime and when food is concerned); he is a food-crazed monster!

Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
Blackjak has interacted with children and didn’t mind being picked up and handled by them. He would be fine with kids who are gentle and not too noisy.

The other adult foster cat in the house has finally allowed Blackjak to become friends with her - he was always trying to cosy up to her. Now they sleep next to each other and Blackjak often smooches her or wrestles with her.

He hasn't met dogs yet but would likely be fine with a slow introduction.

Likes / Dislikes
Blackjak LOVES food - cat food and human food - but maybe too much! He is currently on a special diet of Hills Biome cat food to maintain a healthy tummy.

He'll play just about all day, playing with anything small that he finds like a piece of paper. He loves the cat tunnel, and lately his new toy is the bouncy ball which he bounces and leaps after if you bounce it. He'll catch it between his paws mid air and make lots of cute meows and "brrrt" sounds in the process. He's even started sometimes bringing the ball back to you to throw again! He loves attention, pats and cuddles and sleeping on the bed with you. He'll lick your hand during smooch sessions. He enjoys sitting on windowsills and chattering at birds outside.

He isn't happy about loud noises such as the vacuum cleaner or blender.

My PURR-fect home would be would be with a loving family and a home that would be full of toys and humans to play with me (especially with a bouncy ball!) and give me the love and attention (and plenty of food!) that I crave, perhaps quieter or older children too.

Perth Rescue Angels recommends all cats are indoor only, unless they have access to a secure cat enclosure.

Medical Notes: Blackjak had Ringworm, which is a common fungal infection. He was treated for this and given the all clear by the vet.

Blackjak has a sensitive stomach and needs to remain on a veterinary prescribed diet to reduce the likelihood of him suffering from diarrhoea.
