About Maisie
Introducing Maisie!
Maisie is an American Staffy x born 8th April 2024.
Unfortunately Maisie is an unclaimed stray, so she is now looking for her forever home. When we say "unfortunately" we mean this is unfortunate for her previous owners, as she is an absolutely beautiful girl who has won the hearts of all our staff & volunteers.
Since being at the facility Maisie has been a delightful girl to care for. She's playful, loves a treat (and is quite gentle when taking them), she's affectionate, walks well on lead and she knows how to sit on command. Maisie is eager to please her owner and seems to be a quick learner.
Maisie tested quite well with other dogs, both large & small. When she met a very small dog, she playfully bopped them on the head, which made the smaller dog quite reactive towards her. Maisie thought this was all part of the game & continued trying to play.. and bopped her on the head again. With larger dogs she play bows & does the excited bum scoots. We feel Maisie could be suitable to live with another dog, or be a spoilt "only child". If you have a friendly dog at home we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Maisie tested well with cats & pocket pets. She gently sniffed them and moved on. We feel that she could be suitable to live with cats, if given a slow & controlled introduction to them.
She still has so much to learn about the world and would love to be in a home where she is included as a member of the family. Maisie will thrive in an environment that guides her with positive direction and lots of love and attention.
Maisie has shown very mild signs of separation anxiety while at the facility, however she does settle very quickly.
Maisie has shown no food aggression since being at the facility.
Maisie's adoption fee is $475 and includes her desexing & lifetime registration.
Maisie is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with her vaccinations.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
