Sandy is a sweet-natured girl, who has settled down quickly in care and loves everyone she meets, adults and children. She is always eager to please, loves to be told she is a good girl, and hasn’t quite grasped (she weighs around 23kg) that she isn’t a lap dog! She displays a normal, lively interest around other dogs, but can get a bit over excited in a friendly way around smaller dogs, so a bit of caution is required. She is untested with cats.

Sandy is an indoor dog, fully house trained, quiet and well behaved. Her recall and eye contact are excellent and she complies with basic commands like “sit”, “stay”, etc. She very seldom barks and has shown no signs of destructive or aggressive behaviour. While she does like her food, she is not food-possessive. She loves her daily walks, walks well on her lead, and enjoys riding in the car, where she quickly settles down.
Sandy was bullied by two larger dogs in her former life, so combined with the fact that she can get over excited with smaller dogs, she is best suited to be in a single dog home, where she will be a wonderful and loyal companion to her new owners.

Our adoption process includes a two week trial period to ensure you and your adopted pet are the right fit. Successful applicants will be contacted for an interview and a property inspection (as it is vital we rehome our animals to a safe, secure and suitable home).

The adoption fee of $450 assists to cover the costs of desexing, microchip, microchip ownership transfer, flea and worm treatment, vaccinations, vet check and a fitted Haqihana Harness if needed.
