Roxie is a stunning girl with a personality as big as her heart. In Dachshund circles her coat is known as silver dapple. She has spent her entire life with her longtime canine companion, Rusty, but for the first time, she’s preparing to venture out on her own. While she and Rusty have been inseparable, their bond has made them quite reactive to other dogs, often winding each other up. We believe that in separate homes, Roxie may find it easier to settle and enjoy a more peaceful life.

Although she’s smaller than Rusty, Roxie is undoubtedly the more adventurous and confident of the two. She’s always the first in line for food, the first to demand affection, and the first to claim a warm lap for snuggles. She may be little, but she certainly knows what she wants, and she isn’t shy about letting you know!

Roxie is looking for a calm home without other animals, where she can soak up all the attention she craves. An adult-only household or one with older children would be best for her. Like many dachshunds, she can be a bit barky at first, but she settles quickly, especially once she’s snuggled up beside you. She’s happiest when she’s right next to her person, but since her little legs make it difficult to climb onto the couch, she’ll need some pet steps to help her up.
