About Asteria **2nd Chance Cat Rescue**
Meet Asteria!
This sweet girl came to us at 1 week old with her mum and siblings from a hoarder house. A hard start to life but her resilience and determination so strong as she endured and overcame ringworm and exposure to multiple strains of flu.
Sadly she was in the 1.4% of cats exposed to corona strain that develop FIP- which three years ago had a 98% fatality rate.
But she is a survivor! And is now in full FIP remission!!!
Now fully healthy, Asteria is looking forward to her a forever home , where she will be spoilt rotten and showered in love, so she can return those affections to her new family.
Asteria has the same key personality elements of her family- sweet, loving, affectionate, and not a mean bone in her body.
She has a gentle presence about her, contrasting a few of her siblings with a calm energy.
She is great with all other cats of any age, often cuddled up with her siblings or an adult.
Asteria can be picked up and carried around like a baby, happy to be cradled in your arms and receiving love.
She is shy with new people, but will love you entirely once she gets to know you.
Wouldn't suit young kids.
Untested with dogs.

Medical notes
Asteria was diagnosed with dry FIP early July 2025.
Her treatment was a success and ended 7 October 2025. She is in full remission!!
She has no health issues now.
We will give the name of our vet so her file can be transferred to the adopter's vet.
FIP is not contagious. It's a cellular mutation that appears several months after exposure to corona, and was fully cured with medication.
She also hasn't had any flu since being a young kitten.
It's safe for an active or remission FIP cat to be around other animals.
We do recommend vaccinations are kept up to date for all animals.
