Meet Makoa! This playful, clever boy with a big heart and beautiful nature is looking for an active home with a big yard or property to run and explore. One ear up, one ear flopped - That's the Makoa style! Makoa would love to have a friendly, energetic dog sibling to keep him company and show him the ropes of his new home. While he can be left safely during work hours, he’d be happiest in a home where someone is around more often than not. Makoa is great with kids aged five and up (any younger and he might accidentally bowl them over with his enthusiasm, although this could be trained out) and shows lots of respect for cats and would love to live with some if you have them, other animals are untested.

Makoa is a 6-year-old Blue Heeler mix (or maybe part wolf... my, what big paws and fluffy tail you have!) with a gorgeous energy and a friendly, polite demeanor when meeting other dogs. He’s incredibly smart, learning toilet training in just three days, and is eager to continue mastering new skills. He is looking for a home with devoted humans to maximise his potential and teach him all the things he's missed out on knowing thus far. Makoa’s already working on commands like sit, taking treats gently, and getting into bed. He’s highly food-motivated and thrives with positive reinforcement, bum wiggling his way over to you for a big cuddle.

This good boy walks perfectly on a leash, doesn’t jump, and is quiet unless he thinks there could be something suspicious afoot, in which case he will warn you with a single bark! Makoa is super affectionate and will make a loyal, devoted companion. Makoa makes the funniest groan when he lays his head for the night that is oh so endearing and melts his foster family's heart!

Makoa hasn't been given the chance to showcase all his love and intelligence. He is yearning for a family and home he can call his own where he can shine the way he was born to.
