About Max
This 8-year-old ginger and white beauty, affectionately known as Max the King, is ready to rule your household with his boundless love and larger-than-life personality.
Max is the ultimate cuddler - a big, fluffy ball of feline affection who just wants to be adored by everyone he meets. His regal presence and loving nature make him the perfect companion for a family ready to indulge him with the affection he craves.
Max is suited for most homes, particularly those with children aged 6-10, who are happy to give him daily pats and maybe even imagine themselves fanning him with palm fronds and feed him grapes (note: he prefers these symbolic gestures over actual grapes - please don't feed cats grapes!).
Max's ideal family will embrace his charm, respect his playful yet majestic nature, and keep him as the cherished king he was born to be.
Are you ready to open your home and heart to Max, the king of cuddles, naps, and love? He promises to bring joy, warmth, and a lot of snuggles to your family. Max is waiting to be your new best friend - are you ready to be his loyal subject? 👑🐾
Please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au to book a meet and greet with Max. Due to the high volume of emails received, Inquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
