Bowie (2y) and Wombat (1.5y) are a bonded pair of desexed male mini dachshunds.
Bowie is a black and tan min dachshund. He is pretty chilled although, like all dachshund's, is reactive to noises, people and other dogs and will bark. Bowie’s favorite thing to do is play fetch. If he finds a ball he will bring it to you over and over and over again to ask you to throw it for him. Bowie is very good and will bring the ball back and drop it near you and push it towards you with his nose.
Bowie loves being outside and basking in the sun.
Bowie is not too reactive to cats and would be ok in a house with cats.
Wombat is the dapple mini dachshund and is the younger of the pair but he is the boss. If your lap is free he is on it. He is protective of Bowie and if his foster brothers are getting too exuberant in play, Wombat is in there defending Bowie. Wombat is very smoochie and would love to be in your bed or on your lap for naps.
Wombat will also bark at noises, people and dogs. Wombat is also somewhat reactive to cats, but I think he could learn to live with one.
The boys love playing with each other and their foster brother. Both Bowie and Wombat have been fine with older children and males at their foster home (unable to check with smaller children).
Both boys are clever and know how to sit and stay when food is a motivator, but would benefit from someone who can spend some time doing more training with them. They walk well on leads, The boys are nonchalant during storms, they’re not diggers but will find gaps in fencing to escape. Chew toys are no match for these boys. They love nothing more than chewing a toy to smithereens. Thankfully they don’t feel the same way about shoes.
Bowie has a very mild luxating patella (knee cap) in his back left leg, he will occasionally hop or skip: but you wouldn’t know as he loves running around.
Both are great with dogs – not aggressive at all – settled in with foster dogs and family immediately. Great with people and with kids!
Microchipped, desexed, fully vaccinated inc of SR 12 Heart worm annual, Bravecto and worming (3 monthly) and fully vet checked as per our Policy.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
Bowie has a very mild luxating patella - vet checked and no need for any further investigation.
