About Mooncake
*In foster care in Forest Lodge, Sydney*
Small in stature but huge in heart, sweet Mooncake is a real character - and she only gets funnier the more you get to know her!
The keys to unlocking Mooncake's true personality are treats, pats, and quality time. Just sitting with her quietly gives her the confidence to be herself, especially when she's settling in to a new environment. Before you know it, she'll be approaching for sniffs and cuddles!
This independent little lass enjoys greeting her foster carer by wrapping her tail around her legs and smooching on her feet. She can be a ball of energy at certain times of the day, sounding like a Formula One race (complete with vroom noises!) instead of one tiny kitten as she zooms around the house :)
Mooncake also loves playtime, especially when you join in! Her fishing pole and ribbon toys are her favourite, though she also knows how to play fetch with balls.
A doting home with somebody who likes to cook (she finds it fascinating, and will eagerly act as your sous chef!) and where she'll be given lots of boiled chicken snacks (she comes running when she hears the fridge door opening!) would be purrfect for this gorgeous girl!
Like all Maggie's pets, Mooncake is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: ... will be with a single human or couple, or a family with kids aged 10+, who'll spend plenty of time with me and treat me like one of the gang! A mostly calm household without loud and sudden noises would suit me best - maybe even with another nice cat to bond with :)
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Please be patient with me as I get to know you! I get more and more playful and confident as time goes on, and you'll find me begging you to play with me to keep me occupied!
I love being a race car, zooming around with the accompanying vrooms to make you laugh. But I also like a good play/life balance, taking long relaxing naps throughout the day between meals, chicken snacks and playtime.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: A family home with children aged 10+ might be suitable for me, as long as kids are gentle and can recognise when I'm a feeling overstimulated by pats or loud noises. Be aware that when it all gets too much I might scratch or bite.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: Though I haven't spent any time with other pets, I think I'd really enjoy having a feline friend for company, play and cuddle puddles!

We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form at https://form.jotform.co/92940837256870. Please use this link rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
