About Boy Scout
*In foster care in Concord, Sydney*
Boy Scout has so much love to give! He's been through a lot already in his short life - including having most of his teeth removed and being FIV+ - but he'd make a wonderful addition to your home. Scout’s honour!
Since arriving in foster care, he's earned a bunch of merit badges:
* Brave Boy - he's comfortable in most situations (including the car - he almost falls asleep in his carrier during a drive!) and he's not timid or prone to hiding away. He faces situations head-on and gets comfortable with unfamiliar things quickly.
* Speak Your Mind - he's a chatty lad and will talk to you with little chirps or meows when he needs something :) He'll also start purring loudly as soon as you start patting or playing with him. He adores human attention and he makes sure you know it!
* Junior Explorer - he likes to investigate his surroundings thoroughly, so he'll duck under furniture and onto desks to see what he can find. He's careful not to disturb things too much though - he just want to see what’s around. He loves looking out the window at birds and neighbours, and the changing scenery.
* Fancy Dress - his markings make it look like he has his hair parted and styled and his moustache neatly trimmed, so he's ready to make a great first impression on you!
Because Boy Scout only has his canine teeth left, his little tongue sticks out sometimes (well, lots of times). If there was an award for bleps, he'd win first place!
Like all Maggie's pets, Boy Scout is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: I’m a really adaptable boy, so I think I’d suit most homes! Being so friendly, I'd like a home with people who'll spend time with me and make me a part of the family.
I’m OK being left alone and can entertain myself with my toys, but I love being by your side too. I’m interested in what you’re doing, but I’m not clingy and I'm happy to have my own space sometimes.
Here's some videos of me! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrmSjXd8v_suV5_ANsoD6_JF3ro9rC6wK
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I'm the perfect combination of playful and calm! I love a play and a run around for a bit, but then I’ll relax and ask to sit next to you for some cuddles. I’ve still got some kitten energy and love hunting my feather toys, but I love an ear rub afterwards just as much.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I haven’t met any kids yet, but I’m really easygoing so I'd probably be fine with them, as long as they're gentle and kind.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: Though I haven't had a chance to interact with my feline foster sister yet (boo quarantine!), I purr VERY loudly when I see her so I think I'd get along well with other cats!
Friendly dogs sound OK to me, too :)
Medical notes
Boy Scout is FIV+. With the right care, many FIV+ cats live long, healthy lives. They can also live safely with other cats, as FIV is only spread through deep biting - not through the sharing of food or water bowls, grooming, litter trays etc. FIV cannot be transmitted to humans or other animal species.
We're happy to chat about this in more detail with potential adopters.
Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form at https://form.jotform.co/92940837256870. Please use this link rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
