About Tux
Hi I’m Tux,
At first, I’m a little scared and nervous about new people. I’m an extremely loving and family-oriented dog and continue to show additional progress in being interested in gaining friends with new, unfamiliar people with the support of my foster home each day by befriending people and other animals on walks, adapting to new youngsters entering and exiting their home, and approaching new people at the beach.
However, my forever family would require understanding that I am a very shy man, so that can lead to me barking, maybe even growling, at new people from being scared and confused, but it’s truly not my intention to scare you; that’s not in my nature, and a simple game of fetch or allowing me to approach you will ensure we are best mates for life.
I’m fantastic with cats, have had previous experience with chickens, and I’m fine with other dogs. But they would need to understand that for the first couple of weeks I prefer my toys to myself most of the time, and I’m not big on other dogs being in my face for medium periods because it makes me feel uncomfortable (this usually leads to Tux reverting back to his bed or a couch, and if followed by the dog, this can lead to Tux giving off a warning growl; however, Tux has never acted on this, and we strongly believe he wouldn’t he just wants his point to get across, and this is how he’s learned to communicate this).
I’m not the biggest biscuit eater, but I absolutely adore my treats and anything chicken, as well as my gravied wet food. I love my daily strolls and swimming with the kids at the beach; it even puts a smile on my face, and I have a bachelor's degree in fetch and cuddles with a side of kisses.
Something unique about me is I’ll always drop my toy a step or two away from you, and if that’s not close enough, simply tell me closer to bring it closer to you or if you want it in your hand say hand but it might take so time for me to get that comfortable.
I’m an extremely friendly once I'm comfortable, well-mannered gentleman who is an inside/outside dog who is mostly inside. I’m a completely house-trained dog who is extremely cuddly and loving.
Extra behavioral notes: Tux does have vet anxiety due to a bad experience, so Tux will have to see a home vet to make his vet experiences less traumatic and stressful.-
