About River
Meet River, a 2 ½-year-old male domestic shorthair with a soft grey coat, ready to flow seamlessly into your life just like his name suggests.
River is a sweet and adaptable kitty who's looking for a loving home to call his own.
He's known for being calm, gentle, and affectionate, making her a great companion for most families. River is likely okay with kids and could easily fit in with a cat-friendly dog. He's already living harmoniously with other cats at the shelter, so he'd be a great addition to a multi-pet household.
If you're looking for a laid-back, loving feline friend who can roll with the flow of your family life, River is your man! He's ready to start his next chapter with you. Come meet him today and see how perfectly he'll fit into your home.
Please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au to book a meet and greet with River.. Due to the high volume of emails received, Inquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
