About Jughead - Super Shy Boy
Hi! I’m Jughead we are looking for a new family to call our own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR JUGHEAD
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/VyJq1XYmi3t7xcSw5
NOTE: You are unable to meet Jughead until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Jughead in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Regular walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
• A doggie companion is a MUST, I have had a rough past and I am reluctant to trust humans and can be flighty around you, but when I’m with another dog I am completely different, I’m happy, relaxed and much braver! I look to other dogs for encouragement and to see that I am safe.
• A quiet & mature family/household – I’m slowly learning to trust people and need a family who will not pressure me.
• I am very shy at first and have some mistrust in people, so I need a family who'll allow me to grow in confidence in own my time
• Doggy daycare and group socialisation classes would be highly beneficial for me.
• SOCIALISATION is super important for me as it appears I have led a very sheltered life and can be nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I am (slowly) becoming braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence.
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• No cats, they frighten me, and I need to learn to trust people first before I take on cats!
• No young children as we can be a bit shy in new situations and with new people and little ones will accidently scare us.
My best features:
• Gentle, placid & quiet
• I’m learning that attention and having snuggles with my humans is enjoyable (once I get to know you & trust you)
• Love to snooze on the couch
• I walk well on lead for an inexperienced doggo but having daily walks should help us improve our lead skills. If I get spooked I can become quite flighty, I will need a secure harness that I can't wiggle out of.
• I love toys especially our ball, playing fetch and tug rope – I love to play with toys with my dog friends or by myself, but I’m reluctant to play with you just yet.
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I require full basic training as I have had no training experience yet
• I am EXTREMELY timid in new situations such as entering a building/home. I MUST have a family who'll allow me inside and another dog to always be with so I can see it isn't a scary place and to allow my confidence to grow.
• I am very shy and try to avoid things going over our heads (lead etc).
• As I have not been allowed inside before I am not housetrained yet
