About Zeus
Are you looking for a sassy older man to add to your life? Well say hello to Zeus!
Zeus is a 9-year-old Mastiff mix who came to Forever Friends after his owner passed away and is now looking for the perfect home to live out his golden years. You can tell that Zeus has been very loved by people through his life, and he loves people right back. One of his best qualities is his friendliness towards people - once he meets someone, he warms to them and quickly becomes their second shadow.
Despite his age, Zeus has so much zest for life. His favourite things are car rides, tennis balls, playing tug and chewing on squeaky toys. He has also shown his athletic prowess is still available when required (albeit in short bursts) which helps him get into the car or up on the couch for some cuddles. In foster care Zeus spends most of his days sleeping inside but if you're outside pottering in your garden then he's happy to be outside with you. At this stage of his life Zeus knows exactly what he wants and will tell you if he wants something (generally a play session or attention) with his mighty barks - thankfully this is done just through the day and it is possible to preempt and stop the barking before it happens.
Zeus generally walks very well on leash and in foster care he's been getting two 30-45 minute walks a day. He has shown that he is not interested in interactions with other dogs and will require a confident handler to manage him if he reacts to them outside of the home. He is currently on medication to help him manage his big feelings, which will be recommended to continue in his forever home to help with his adjustment to his new life.
Zeus has a clean bill of health, sleeps and snores through the night (and most of the day), is toilet trained and is a big softy.
If you and your home tick the following boxes, you might be a perfect fit:
Pet-free home
Confident handler
Older kids only (10+)
Can tolerate daytime barking
Work from home or home more often than not (Zeus loves to be with his people)
