Our adoption process involves the applicant to come into our store, meet Nelly and also demonstrate a full understanding of what is needed to care for the rabbit. We are here to educate and make sure the rabbit will be cared for correctly. ALL applicants must be approved by Nelly so please be patient if she is not working the day you come in. Retail Pet shop code of conduct.

Our rabbits are guaranteed to be in good health at time of adoption.
You may return the rabbit to us for a full refund within 7 days providing it has been examined by a veterinarian surgeon with 48 hours of purchase and found to have a disease or congenital defect which will significantly reduce the animal’s lifespan.

If the rabbit is returned to Nelly’s Ark for any other reason within 3 days of purchase you are entitled to a 75% refund of the original adoption price.

The rabbit has been wormed upon arrival in the store.

Our rabbits are fed Oxbow & Showmaster rabbit and guinea pig food, and quality oaten hay, it is best to continue with this food. Always ensure there is plenty of water, via bowl and bottle, also provide fruit and veg often.

By the pet store code of practice we do not have to vaccinate rabbits
There is no current vaccination for myxomatosis available in Australia, however a vaccination for calicivirus is available, contact your local vet.
