*update* 07/06/11
tallulahbell has come so far, and as i was satisfying her morning pat cravings just now it occurred to me that i'm no longer having to 'work' with her, i'm now able to just enjoy her as a gorgeous affectionate cat, not a 'special needs' neglect case. Tallulahbell's idea home would be with a single or couple that work full time and perhaps are in two minds as to if a cat would be happy spending it's days home alone. Despite her lavish look, 'lulah is incredibly low maintenance. She keeps her coat pristine without the need for grooming, but does enjoy the occasional brush. She is very happy being alone during the day and all she requires is a window to sit in to watch the world go by. She doesn't chew or damage anything, ever, she uses a scratch post and doesn't jump on benches or tables. She loves a nice long pat before bed, in the morning and if you're sitting on the couch, but is happy to do her own thing the rest of the time. While she is listed as 'special needs' that is purely because i want her new owner to understand that she will most likely take some time to bond them, but there is no 'work' that her new owner will have to do with her. It will simply be a matter of giving her time to adjust to the new environment and to become comfortable with her new owner. I cannot stress what a wonderful addition to a professional, adult home 'lulah will make. If you're considering a cat, but aren't sure if your lifestyle is suited to having one, please consider this beautiful girl, you will be pleasantly surprised at how well she will fit into your home. Tallulahbell was dumped by her previous 'owner' at the age of 14 months, after having just had her second litter. Their reason for not wanting her anymore was that her poor worn body was so weak that there was no chance she could have another litter without a long break therefore she was no good to them. When she arrived in care, 'lulah weighed only 2. 6kgs and for the first week was frozen in fear. After about 2 weeks of nothing but eating and sleeping she was strong enough for it to become apparent that she had been very mistreated in her previous home. She was very fear aggressive and lashed out at anyone and anything that came near her. Slowly she began to realise that she was now safe, and started to relax enough for me to be in the same room as her for short periods. 'lulah continued to make progress over the next few weeks and we got to the point that she would allow me to pat her under certain circumstances (i had to be sitting and not looking directly at her) from there, the progress really picked up and she was happy to spend time together and would come to me for pats when she wanted, but she was still unable to cope with anyone else's presence. It's now been just over 3 months since 'lulah arrived, and the difference in her is nothing short of amazing. She has discovered her inner diva, and now confident in the knowledge that she is safe and loved, she has become a stunning, healthy cat that is not shy about getting her own way!
tallulahbell is incredibly affectionate, she loves pats, in fact she now demands them and purrs uncontrollably when she gets them. While she is still what i would consider a work in progress, i have decided to start the search for her forever home now, as she is still quite timid around other people and i feel that she will need to continue her journey in her new home, with her new owner, rather than continuing to bond with me. Tallulahbell will require an adult, single cat, indoor home where she will be accepted and loved quirks and all!
if you're looking for a stunning, affectionate, princess with attitude to spoil rotten, tallulahbell could be the girl for you!
