Some cats choose each other, and Star and Beans have made their choice.
These two beautiful souls share a bond so strong that they simply don't know how to be apart. When Beans once spent a short time with another carer, he became unsettled and spent his days calling out for Star. Back at home, Star searched for him and missed him just as much. They're each other's comfort, confidence, and family, and they're looking for a forever home where they can stay together.
## 🌟 Star
Star's journey began in a hoarding situation, and she's still learning that the world can be a safe place. She's an anxious girl who takes her time getting to know new people and prefers to build trust on her own terms.
Visitors may only get a cautious sniff—or they may not see much of her at all—and that's okay. Star isn't a social butterfly and she's not the kind of cat who immediately seeks attention. Instead, she's looking for someone who understands that trust is something precious that takes time to build.
But for the people she chooses, Star has a very special way of showing her love.
When the house is quiet and bedtime arrives, she'll often appear with a gentle purr, press her little wet nose against you, and settle down beside you for the night. These moments are reserved for the people she trusts most, making them all the more rewarding.
Star also has an extraordinary quirk: she chuffs. This deep, rumbling sound is usually associated with big cats, not house cats, and hearing one from Star feels like being welcomed into her inner circle. Earning a chuff from her is a privilege—and absolutely worth the wait.
## 🐾 Beans
Beans may have had a difficult start in life, but you would never know it from his sunny, affectionate personality.
Rescued from a domestic violence situation and born with a fused third eyelid, Beans faced challenges from the very beginning. Thanks to the generosity of supporters, he received surgery that restored his vision, and now sees the world clearly with two happy eyes.
None of it has dampened his spirit.
Beans is a world-class cuddle bug, a professional purr machine, and a cat who genuinely loves being around people. Whether he's curled up next to you on the couch, following you around the house, or snuggling up with Star, he's happiest when he's close to those he loves.
Beans does have chronic rhinitis from birth, which means he occasionally needs a gentle nose wipe. It's a tiny bit of extra care in exchange for an enormous amount of affection, companionship, and entertainment.
## ❤️ Their Bond
While Star and Beans have very different personalities, they are deeply connected.
Beans gives Star confidence, while Star gives Beans comfort. They sleep together, play together, groom one another, and keep each other company throughout the day.
When they were separated for a short period while Beans stayed with another carer, both cats became distressed. Beans called out for Star and struggled without her nearby, while Star missed him just as much back at home. It became very clear that these two need each other.
For this reason, Star and Beans are looking for a home together. They're not just friends—they're family.

Adoption details
Adopting with Kittie Kat Rescue Inc.
Bringing a new pet into your home is a long-term commitment—both emotionally and financially. Cats can live 15 to 20 years, so it's essential that all family members are prepared to provide love, shelter, and a safe environment for their lifetime. This includes premium nutrition, regular veterinary care, and ensuring they are kept indoors only or have access to a secure, cat-proof outdoor enclosure.
Our Adoption Process:
-Initial Contact & Questionnaire. We’ll start by sending you our adoption questionnaire via email or text message. This helps us understand your home environment and what you're looking for in a feline companion.
-Video Tour. We will require a video tour of your home, focusing on safety features such as secure screens on windows, doors and balconies. Plus, we’d love to see where your new kitty will be set up in their new home!
-Meet & Greet with the Foster Carer. Once your application is complete and approved, we’ll arrange a time for you to meet the cat with their foster carer.
-Adoption & Bringing Your Cat Home. In some cases, if your application is approved and the cat has completed all their vet work, they can go home with you straight after the meet and greet (an adoption fee is payable). Adoption paperwork will follow.
-Settling-In Period & Adoption Finalisation. Every adoption includes a two-week settling-in period from the time of adoption. If, for any reason, your new cat isn’t the right fit for your home, you can return them within this period for a 50% refund of the adoption fee.
-All of our cats come microchipped, desexed, with one or more vaccinations, and will be lifetime registered. Depending on their age, kittens may need their second (and potentially third) vaccination undertaken by the adopter after adoption. The transfer of ownership is completed as soon as possible.
Adoption fees:
-Kittens: $350
-Cats 1 - 3 Years: $275
-Cats 3 Years+: $200
All adoptions will also carry a lifetime registration/admin fee of $50 on top of the above adoption price.
