Nature
Maverick is a very gentle and timid boy who has come such a long way in foster care. While he can still be a little unsure of himself, his curious side is really starting to shine through. Maverick loves to investigate what’s going on around him and will happily supervise from a safe distance.

He’s also discovered that humans can be pretty great! Maverick has become increasingly affection-seeking, particularly when mealtimes are approaching (funny how quickly confidence develops when food is involved!). He loves a good cheek rub and back scratch, and he’ll even follow you into the bathroom to make sure you don’t forget his pats. Sometimes, his Foster Mum finds him waiting outside the bathroom for scratches if the door is closed!

When he’s feeling affectionate but is still a little too shy to come right up to you, he’ll flop onto his tummy and wriggle around on the floor. It’s absolutely adorable - he seems to really, really, really want to be your friend; he’s just still figuring out exactly how to do it.

There’s no doubt that with time, patience and love, Maverick will continue to blossom into a wonderfully affectionate companion.

Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
Maverick hasn't met children, and given his timid nature, we think he'd be happiest in an adult household or a home with older, calm children who understand that he needs space and patience.

Maverick LOVES other cats! He has always lived around lots of other kitties and really enjoys having feline company. You can often find him playing, snuggling or sleeping with his foster siblings. He would be especially well suited to a home with a confident, friendly cat who could show him the ropes and help him build his confidence.

He hasn't met any dogs yet, so we think he'd be best suited to a dog-free home.

My PURR-fect home would be a quiet, peaceful place with people who understand I need a little extra time to make friends. I'd love patient humans who will give me lots of time, energy and love to help me out of my shell and discover my full cat-potential!
I'd absolutely love a confident feline friend to show me the ropes, having another kitty around makes me feel safe and happy and I love having someone to snooze and play with!
