Meet Clifford,
Do you want a dog that’s equal parts cuddle-bug and class clown? Well, allow us to introduce Clifford - a happy-go-lucky, tail-wagging goof ball who’s guaranteed to make you smile (and maybe question his life choices). Perfect for first-time owners or seasoned dog pros, Clifford is an easy-going guy who will fit into any home, whether it’s a lively household or a chill, relaxed space. He’s adaptable, affectionate, andjust a little bitof a lovable idiot (in the best way possible).
Clifford is the kind of dog who’s always ready for an adventure, whether that’s exploring the backyard, sniffing out the latest neighbourhood gossip, or dramatically flopping onto the floor when he wants belly rubs. He’s never met a stranger - human or canine - that he didn’t immediately decide was his new best friend.
Playful? Yes. Affectionate? Absolutely. A little bit clueless? 100%. But that just makes him even more endearing.
If you’re ready to welcome a four-legged comedian into your life - one who will keep you entertained, shower you with love, and occasionally trip over his own feet - Clifford is your guy!
Ideal Home: Clifford is suitable to live in either a standalone home, or farm/acerage, with a medium to large sized yard & high, secure fencing.
Family: Clifford is open to meet kids of any age but families with young children should be aware that Clifford is a playboy boy & he may accidently knock smaller kids over.
Clifford would love free access to inside & outside the home so that he can get the best of both worlds. Time spent inside the home would mean a lot to Clifford as he loves spending time with people.Clifford is suitable to live with people who work part-time hours as he needs someone whose committed to his training.
Furry Friends: Clifford is open to meet other dogs. During his dog assessment he was very good with minimal reaction when seeing the other dog. He had a loose body, a very happy tail & lots of butt wiggles during the assessment. He is slightly timid though, so he's better suited to placid dogs that are on his level.
As we cannot test, we are unsure how Clifford would go meeting cats/pocket pets. This would be up to the discretion of his new owners.
Training & Development: Clifford would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home to cover basic commands/obedience. Group classes would also be beneficial for Clifford to ensure that his doggo social skills stay sharp. These classes will also assist Clifford with his confidence around dogs, too.
Clifford is still learning his name, but she knows commands such as: sit. Clifford, underneath his goofiness is trainable. Clifford is also food motivated & takes treats from you gently. Having treats on you during training, to mark good behaviour, would be an excellent idea, too.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Clifford has mid to high-range energy needs & would benefit from exercise, play, or walks from 20-60mins every day to keep him happy & healthy. Clifford also likes to play with soft toys, he is known to bring them to you like a present he has meticulously picked out for you. He also likes going for walks.
Clifford walks *OK* on a lead. But lead training would also be beneficial as he's very excited & often forgets that walking entails actually walking...
Staff Comments: Clifford is a very sweet dog that needs basic training. He loves to play and cuddle in your lap. Sometimes he jumps up, but only to give you a ugh. He is slightly shy at times, but recovers very quickly.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
The adoption fee for dogs covers C5 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
