-**We anticipate Hugo will be ready for his new forever home by the 25th March 2025.**-
We are taking expressions of interest now...for Adopting Homes or through the Foster-to-Adopt programme, where fostering reduces the adoption fee while you and Hugo get to know each other without financial commitment. Available for selected homes; please ask our wonderful Rescue Team for the details.
Introducing the dashing Mr. Hugo von Dobermann, Esq.—a captivating crossbreed with Dobermann and Rottweiler lineage, destined to grow into a loyal companion who simply wants to explore the world by your side.
If you've ever dreamed of welcoming a Dobermann into your life, now is your chance. Hugo is a remarkable young boy—easy to handle, brimming with charm, and a true delight to be around. His warm personality and gentle nature make him an irresistible addition to any loving home.
When Hugo first arrived at our rescue, he was underweight and unfamiliar with commands or boundaries commensurate with his age. With patience, care, and our broader team's guidance and experience, he continues to blossom into a well-mannered, affectionate companion. His training methods form part of his adoption BIO, which will be provided to his new home, along with the option of additional training sessions should you wish to refresh your skills or build upon his foundation.
We are thrilled Hugo's tender heart and intelligence provide a pure willingness to learn, this young boy forms strong bonds with his humans very quickly. His sweet, friendly approach extends not only to people but also to his canine companions, making him a well-rounded and loving soul.
What makes Hugo special?
- **Affectionate & Loyal**: Hugo adores his humans and seeks out their company, always ready for a cuddle or a kind word.
- **Eager Learner**: He’s quick to pick up new commands and enjoys training sessions, responding well to vocal cues and positive reinforcement.
- **Sociable Spirit**: While he’s still learning about boundaries, Hugo interacts positively with other dogs and loves playtime.
- **Resilient & Determined**: Despite his rough start, Hugo’s confidence has grown immensely—a true testament to his spirit.
- **Soft-Hearted & Adaptable**: Hugo's gentle nature means he bonds deeply with his people, making him a wonderful candidate for a family dog. His softness allows him to mirror the energy around him—playful when it's time for fun, but calm and affectionate when you're winding down.
- **Young & Malleable**: At his young age, Hugo is at the perfect stage to grow and develop into a true reflection of his forever family. With the right guidance, he will adapt seamlessly to your routines, creating a strong, lifelong bond.
- **Family-Ready**: Hugo shows a natural willingness to be part of a pack, whether that’s with his human family or alongside other dogs. His loving demeanor means he’ll thrive in a home where he’s included in everyday life—from neighborhood walks to quiet evenings at home.

We will respond within 24 hours to arrange a phone call with you and offer you more information about this Dobermann.
We can't wait to speak with you and help you get to know him better.
We'll follow up with another phone call to answer any questions you may have.
We'll send you a link to our online adoption form and ask that you have a veterinarian reference, a compliant council rate notice, and a current Australian driver's licence.
Our online form requests photos of the Dobermann access areas, including fences, gardens, and nearby parks.
We follow up with an email or phone call to discuss your application and build a relationship with you so we get to know your needs and those of another Dobermann who may fit your home life more accurately.
We will do a home check before we approve the adoption and a second phone call or face-time to finalise any outstanding questions you or we may have.
Once we approve the adoption, arrange transportation and collection, we require a legal adoption contract to be signed, and then the adoption fee is paid.
Ownership and all compliance paperwork for your council include registration requirements for your home state, where we are able to do so.
N.B., please note that in some states, the home owner is required to register council papers regarding new pets; this is outside of our control.

We look forward to our supportive role with your Dobermann!
