About Woody
Meet Woody – Your Future Best Friend (and Professional Fun Coordinator!)
Are you looking for a four-legged sidekick who’s always up for an adventure? A buddy who believes life is better with a game of chase, a good belly rub, and maybe a little mischief? Well, meet Woody – the the stunning and standout bundle of energy who’s ready to steal your heart (and possibly your socks).
Woody is a playful, people-loving pup who thrives on interaction. Whether it’s a game of fetch, a zoomies session around the yard, or just following you around to “help” with chores, he’s always down for some fun. He’s grown up in a loving family home with teenagers, so he’s well-socialised and knows that humans make the best cuddle buddies (and treat dispensers).
His mum is a sweet-natured, medium-sized staghound mix, and while his dad remains a mystery, we suspect he might have been a working breed – meaning Woody is likely to grow into an active, medium-sized dog with a love for running and exploring.
Woody’s Dream Home:
- A family committed to at minimum puppy school (because even future geniuses need a good education).
- A yard where he can stretch his legs and show off his zoomies.
- A home where he has both indoor and outdoor access – because he wants to be part of all the action!
- Humans who are ready for an active, engaged companion – Woody isn’t just a couch potato (though he’ll happily snuggle up after a fun-filled day).
Compatibility Check!
- Other dogs? Yes! Woody has been raised alongside his staghound mum and two medium-sized dogs.
- Cats? He hasn’t met any yet, but at his young age, he’s adaptable – with the right introductions, he could be a cat’s new best friend (or at least their goofy younger brother).
- Kids? He hasn’t spent much time with tiny humans, but his confidence suggests that dog-savvy kids would be no problem!
Energy & Lifestyle Needs:
While Woody is currently a tiny ball of puppy energy, as he grows, his sighthound x working breed mix means he’ll need more than just a quick trip to the dog park. He’s looking for a family who will keep his mind and body engaged with:
✔️ Fun training sessions (because he’s a smart boy!)
✔️ Enriching activities (sniffing, puzzles, and adventures, oh my!)
✔️ Plenty of exercise (he dreams of running like the wind!)
Woody isn’t just looking for a home – he’s looking for his perfect adventure buddies. If you’re ready for a playful, loving, and endlessly entertaining new best friend, Woody is your guy!
Please note Woody is currently open for expressions of interest, he won't be able to go to his new home until he is over 8 weeks old.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
