About Rusty
We are seeking a special home (foster to adopt) for Rusty our 6 month old traumatised staffy x pup.
Rusty is a beautiful boy that has come a long way, but is still building his confidence.
When he first came into care Rusty was petrified of people, but has always been good with other dogs.
Rusty is still wary when approached by people and he will not allow you to touch him unless you sit or lie down. If you ignore him then Rusty will come and lay his head in your lap. If you sit on the ground for a period of time then all fear is off and Rusty will jump all over you.
Rusty gets a lot of his confidence from other dogs. He needs another dog - preferably a confident but soft larger dog to live with and hangout with.
This boy has high prey drive so not suitable in a home with cats, chickens etc. Rusty's current foster carer reports he has nightmares so sleeping with other dogs would be recommended.
We are looking for a special home for Rusty. One that is nurturing but with clear boundaries and expectations. Another dog is essential.
Due to his uncertainty around people we are looking for a quieter child free home.
Rusty is flea and worm treated, vaccinated, desexed and microchiped. His adoption fee will be negotatabe for the right home. We will only do a foster to adopt arrangement - not a straight adoption as we are committed to find his right home.
To find out if your home is suitable for this special by please contact Carolyn on 0427 221 231.

Adoption details
We like to take the personal approach where a person sends an email of interest around an animal and then we will follow up with phone discussions and email exploration through a survey.
Please note we are a small group of volunteers that balances the administrative side with the care of the animals.
Please only apply for one of our animals if you are genuinely interested in them.
We expect the prospective owner to travel to meet the animal and we are open to trial periods to ensure we have the match right.
