About Moxie Blue Moon
*In foster care in Petersham, Sydney*
No cat is more deserving of a happy-ever-after than Moxie Blue Moon!
This sweet, gentle and affectionate girl is in her element in foster care, finally able to relax and feel safe after a tough time on the streets. She's had jaw surgery to repair an injury, and several teeth removed - and now she feels like a brand-new cat! You'd never guess her background from the way she leans into pats and her brush, hangs out adoringly with her foster carers, and greets visitors like old friends :)
While Moxie is very sociable by nature, she's not a lap cat and she dislikes being picked up. She can also be easily stressed, which is currently being managed by a low dosage of anti-anxiety meds once a day. We hope that when she's settled in her adoptive home, she'll be able to transition off the medication.
Like all Maggie's pets, Moxie Blue Moon is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: ... will be fairly quiet and calm, with a lovely single person, couple, or family with high school-aged children. I like humans a lot and love being close to them, so while I'm content in my own company, I'll never turn down the chance to spend time with you!
Overall, I'm pretty confident, and I have experience living with another adult cat - we gave each other space and got along quite well. So if you've already got a nice resident kitty or two that might be OK as well :)
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I'm a pretty low-key kind of girl. Though I'll have short bursts of play with a ball toy or wand, you're more likely to find me spying on the neighbours from a window or snoozing somewhere cosy.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I haven't met any kids since arriving in foster care, but I think it's safe to say that young children won't be a great match for my sensitive nature. Teenagers who'll treat me kindly and respectfully could work!
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: The small kittens I've lived with were way too energetic and paws-on for me, but I wouldn't mind living with an older cat who appreciates purrsonal space as much as I do.
I haven't met any dogs at this stage, but chances are the above applies re noisy, unpredictable etc vs calm and relaxed.
Medical notes
Moxie is currently taking anti-anxiety medication, which we hope she can discontinue once she's feeling settled in her new home.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
