About Ziggy
Ziggy would suit a home that has his forever human's home all the time or a companion dog to keep him company.
Walks great on lead, loves a cuddle and pats.
Is a bit of a piggy so don’t leave any food lying around.
He likes to be near you when you are home, so be careful doing meal prep.
If you drop anything it will be gone in a flash! Suffice to say, he would be easily trained with food.
He can currently sit, stay, listens in told out, understands tone of voice so if he is in trouble he know.
If you are excited and use that voice, he knows and gets excited. He is all around the perfect pet, fully trained looking for his forever home.
Doesn’t really like the water but doesn’t complain when being washed.
Seemed to have a bit of allergies when he came into care, so is on an antihistamine to assist and we are bathing in medicated wash to help clear that up.
His breed has lots of crevices in his ears, so his new family needs to keep them clean on a regular basis to prevent anything getting caught in those grooves too long and then getting infected. But that’s no biggie, such a little effort for such a gorgeous dog!
He doesn’t really seem interested in playing with the younger dogs, happy to just observe and wander around with his humans.
May suit a home with an older dog.
Although he does tolerate my puppy when she annoys him so he would be ok with a younger dog too.
He has been introduced to kids of all ages and has been perfectly fine.
Will sleep where he is told to, but you can tell he just wants to cuddle in bed with his humans.
So will happily snuggle in bed if your happy for him to.
Not sure if crate trained as he has stayed on his dog bed no issues so have not felt the need to set the crate up to check.
Can use a doggy door, toilet trained (but he did try and mark everything when he first came into care like most male dogs until they feel comfortable and know their place) Not sue how active he was as he gets a little puffed out on walks so would not need very long walks until he gets his fitness up.
Would most definitely suit a retired person.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
Adoption details
- You contact us to obtain an adoption application and discuss the animal of interest.
Once the application is completed and returned it will be assessed for suitability. We will also ask for rental agreements or rates and photos of your home. Please also include photos of your fencing .
- A meet and greet with the dog and all members of the adopting family and current dogs are arranged where possible.
This usually coincides with a yard check, to ensure the safety and security of the property on which the dog will be kept. - we understand that this is not always possible in interstate adoptions and this will be discussed on your initial contact.
- Payment of the adoption fee is made in one full payment. The dog is then handed over with any belongings, and all relevant paperwork and records. Please note we do have contracts in place that must be signed.
- Once the 14 day 'settling in' period has ended, the change of ownership microchip details are submitted to council and the adoption is officially fina
