Meet Daphne,
Daphne is the kind of dog who will brighten your days with her cheerful personality and loving heart. She’s a happy, friendly girl with a curious mind and a playful spirit. Whether it’s exploring the world with an excited bounce or snuggling up for some quiet time, Daphne is always ready to share her love.
Perfect for first-time dog owners, Daphne is adaptable and will fit right into any home and lifestyle. She’s gentle by nature and can be a little sensitive in new situations, but with kindness and patience, she blossoms into a confident, affectionate girl. With her bubbly, social charm and smart, eager-to-please attitude, Daphne will make every day feel special. If you're looking for a loyal, loving best friend, Daphne is waiting to meet you!
Ideal Home: Daphne is suitable to live in a standalone home or on a farm/acerage, with a medium to large yard & high, secure fencing.
Daphne is fine to spend her time alone in the yard but on occasion would love the opportunity to be inside the home with her new family.
Family: Daphne is open to meet kids of any age, and she is fine to live with people who work full-time hours.
Furry Friends: Daphne must be the only dog in the home. Although Daphne came in with another dog, her dog assessment indicated to us that she lacks broader social skills for meeting unfamiliar dogs and because of this she was uncomfortable throughout her assessment.
As we cannot test, we are unsure how Daphne would go living with or meeting cats/pocket pets. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners.
Training & Development: Daphne would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home to cover basic commands/obedience. Daphne doesn't jump, but she will place her paws on you to say hello.
Daphne is still learning her name, but she knows commands such as: sit, down, and bed (place). She is smart & is trainable. She is food motivated and is known to be very gentle when taking treats from you. Having treats on you during training to mark good behaviour would be an excellent idea.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Daphne has low to mid-range energy needs & would benefit from exercise, play, or walks from 20-30mins every day to keep her healthy & content. Daphne likes to play with toys but prefers it if you to play with her - she's not the type of dog to play by herself. Daphne also likes lounging around next to you, going for walks & engaging with one-on-one time with her handlers.
Daphne walks well on lead with minimal pulling. She is fine to be walked on any walking apparatus.
Staff Comments: Daphne is a very gentle girl - a little sensitive at times. She is quite engaging, very happy to just sit on the grass next to you and relax. She's a beautiful girl who would make a great addition for any single dog households.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
The adoption fee for dogs covers C5 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
