A unique name for a unique boy.

Staniel is a gentle goofball, he loves a pat from the kids and will be your shadow.

He has been in foster care with another kelpie x who he would play with but he much prefers to follow the people of the house around and curl up nearby for a nap. If the adoptive family were home regularly he would likely be happy as an only dog.

He loves to give kisses and if you’ve got bare knees or ankles he will give them a sneaky smooch. This boy is such an affectionate fella and has a super soft coat like a teddy bear. Every evening he jumps up on the couch and cuddles in close with the humans.

Staniel is very excited about exploring the big, wide world but also a little unsure. Loud vehicles like motorbikes and trucks nearby are a little scary but in time he will become more accustomed. Meanwhile, he just looks to his human for reassurance and wears a head halter which helps guide him to walk much better on lead. Staniel does tend to forget his manners while out walking in the sense that he forgets obedience like to sit or come when called. With training and patience the distractions of the outer world would become no issue as he is very much a food motivated boy! He approaches other people and dogs in a friendly and excited way.

Staniel has been easy to train in the house as he responds very well to a squirt from the water bottle and plenty of treats. He has shown that he is actually a pretty clever boy and picked up new house rules quickly! Despite his love for food he has never stolen anything from the kids he was living with aged three and six. One of his cute and quirky traits is that he will dance for his dinner.

Perfectly toilet trained, he also has learned to sleep in a crate and even puts himself to bed at night. A really chill boy, he would be a great addition to any family or a home where someone wants a cuddly companion. Staniel doesn’t need a lot of excercise but does need a lot of love!

Staniel has a strong curiosity but is too big and not very experienced with small furry creatures such as bunnies or cats and so wouldn’t be suited to a home with these pets.
