Dolly & Oreo!
Twice the fun, twice the love, twice the noise & twice the digging!
Originating in Germany in the 15th century, Dachshunds were bred to find & flush out badgers. As adorable & popular as they are, it is important to remember that they are a working breed &, as such, have certain needs that should be met. They love the opportunity to go sniff & regular exercise beyond their back yard is essential. They also have paddle-shaped paws, designed for "extreme" digging - providing a space where they can be allowed to dig is a very beneficial & enriching activity for them. It can help relieve stress, boredom & helps drain excess energy
Dolly & Oreo are an unrelated bonded pair & we are looking for a home where they can stay together. They have a gorgeous relationship with each other but also will bond very closely with their family. Dolly is definitely the boss & has a tendency to push herself to the front for all the attention, but Oreo is happy for her to do that! They get along famously, snuggling up together on the bed & getting a lot of reassurance & confidence from each other. They often end up eating out of the same food bowl, even though there is one for each of them!
Dachshunds are known for being a vocal breed, often having something to say & are excellent at raising the alarm. These two need to be allowed to live indoors with their family & they thoroughly enjoy their daily outings & Sniffari walks.
Secure fencing is very important for these natural born tunnelers, they can find even the smallest of gaps to squeeze through. They also require a high-quality diet which, when combined with mental & physical enrichment & a loving, secure home, they can live well into their teens.
They are both super affectionate, never missing an opportunity to jump on your lap & shower you with kisses. They are busy, active, energetic, playful, fun, loving, smart, beautiful & looking for someone like you to welcome them into your heart & home.

Enquiries sent through PetRescue will NOT be answered. Please follow the process below
1) Please note the name of the animal you're interested in
2) Visit the RSPCA Queensland adoption site at www.rspcaqld.org.au/adopt
3) Search for the animal either by type or location
4) View the animal's profile, and click the link to submit an application
5) RSPCA staff will contact you to inform you about the outcome of your application and to talk through the next steps if your application is successful!
